8-0 World Cup (“we”, “us”) is a free, fan-made football game at 8-0-worldcup.com. We keep data collection to the minimum needed to run the game, and we never sell your personal information.
What we collect
Leaderboard entries. When you post a score, we store the team name you type (which can be anything — a real name is not required), your result, your team strength, the game settings used and the eleven players you drafted. This is shown publicly on the leaderboard. Don't enter anything you wouldn't want public.
Game progress. Some preferences (such as whether sound is muted) are saved in your browser's local storage on your device. They never reach our servers.
We do not ask for or store your email, password or account — there are no accounts on this site.
Analytics
We use Vercel Web Analytics, a privacy-friendly, cookie-less analytics tool, to understand aggregate traffic (page views, country, device type). It does not track you across other sites and does not build an advertising profile of you.
Advertising
The game is supported by advertising. We may display ads from third-party networks, and direct sponsorships. Third-party ad providers may use cookies or similar technologies to measure and serve ads. Where required, you will be asked for consent, and you can manage ad personalisation through your browser settings or the relevant provider's controls. Any ad networks we use are listed here as they go live.
Cookies
The core game works without cookies. Cookies, if any, come only from the advertising or embedded third parties described above. You can block or delete cookies in your browser at any time without breaking the game.
Children
The game is suitable for general audiences and does not knowingly collect personal information from children. We ask that you do not enter personal details into the leaderboard team-name field.
Your choices
Because we don't hold accounts, there's little personal data to manage. If you'd like a public leaderboard entry removed, email angus@lamps.works with the team name and approximate time and we'll take it down.
